Drive with Global Lights

Step into Global Lights

Accessible sprint racing

Irish Global Lights is a one-make, low-complexity series built on 600cc Yamaha power, sequential gearboxes, control slicks, and a lightweight prototype body. It’s all about parity and thrilling, wheel-to-wheel competition.

Start here

Try it before you commit

You don't need a race licence — or a race car — to find out if Global Lights is for you. Pick a taster below, tell us in the form, and we'll set it up.

Test drive

A coached taster session in a Global Lights car at an official test day. No race licence needed — just bring your road licence and we sort the rest.

Race car experience

A full experience day: safety briefing, coached track sessions, and your lap data to take home. Available as a gift voucher.

Try before you buy

Run a trial race weekend with a partner team — practice, qualifying-style runs, and full garage support — before committing to a season.

Budgets

Season budgets, tailored to you

One-make parity keeps Irish Global Lights deliberately cost-controlled and predictable. Rather than a one-size price, we build a budget around how you want to race — enquire for a full breakdown and we’ll put real numbers against your plan.

What’s included

  • One-make car prep to a controlled spec
  • Race-weekend engineering and garage support
  • Control tyres and consumables for the weekend
  • Transport and paddock setup (arrive & drive)

What affects your budget

  • Arrive & drive vs own & run
  • How many race weekends you enter
  • Test days and coaching added
  • Travel to away / UK race weekends
  • Spares and any accident damage

Pathways

Arrive & drive

Seats with partner teams, including prep, transport, and support. Budgets and test days tailored to each driver.

Own & run

Purchase or lease a car. Control components keep budgets predictable and ensure parity.

Testing

Recommended before your rookie weekend—most teams include shakedown and coaching.

How to enter

  1. Confirm licence requirements with Motorsport Ireland (or tacho-equivalent).
  2. Pick your pathway: arrive & drive or own & run.
  3. Send us an enquiry; we’ll connect you with a team.
  4. Complete entry paperwork, scrutineering, and briefings.

What you need

  • Motorsport Ireland race licence (or recognised equivalent)
  • Approved race kit (helmet, suit, gloves, boots, HANS)
  • Entry & technical eligibility documentation
  • Recommended: prior test day or driver coaching session

From the grid

“The parity is what hooked me — show up, and the racing comes down to you and the driver alongside. Best value wheel-to-wheel racing I’ve done.”
— Aron Day #95, 2025 season
